Leslie Ansorge, who retired as assistant director of the WIAA in 1973, graduated from La Crosse State Normal School in 1931. From 1927-31 he played center/forward in basketball under Coach Raymond Keeler and competed on the track and field squads under the coaching of Hans C. Reuter. As a member of the track and field team, Ansorge competed in the 220-yard run, 440-yard run and high jump events.
Ansorge received his master's degree from the University of Iowa. He coached and taught in Marion, Wis., from 1931-38 and at Menasha, Wis., from 1938-52.
