Athlete: 1971-1976
Eric Haug was not only a high-scoring basketball player at UW-La Crosse from 1971-75, but also a standout on the Indian golf team. He lettered four times in basketball and three times in golf. In basketball, Eric scored 1,649 point in his career and was named the All-Conference team three times, the All-District team twice and honorable mention NAIA All-American twice.
He was the Most Valuable Player in the WSUC in 1975. He led averaged 10, 21.7, 19.2 and 20.5 points per game. In golf Eric was All-Distrcit and All Conference three years. He was conference medalist in 1974. The Holmen native then was an assistant golf pro in the Chicago area in 1977. He has coached the UW-La Crosse golf team, having his teams participate in the national championships three times. Eric has been named District Coach-of-the-Year three times.
