Playing in four national football championships — and winning one title — highlighted John Janke's collegiate career. Janke was named to four straight all-conference teams, including three straight first team selections.

He ranks second in career rushing attempts (672), yards (3,257) and touchdowns (40) at UW-L. Janke is also third on the school's list in 100-yard rushing games (11).

He returned as a student coach in 1994.

Janke earned a bachelor's in elementary and middle-level education in 1995.
