Connie Lea Sugden
Athlete: 1965-1969
The fact there were no intercollegiate teams for women when she attended college from 1965-69 didn't stop Connie Sugden. Sugden was on the universtiy's first basketball and softball teams to compete in extramural competition. Both squads went undefeated. She also participated in track and volleyball intramural teams as well as the interscholastic field hockey squad. Sugden continued her interests in athletics in White Bear Lake, MN, where she has taught since 1969. Her track teams have won six conference titles, five regional and district titles and a state champion and runner-up trophy.
