University of Wisconsin La Crosse Athletics

Named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Time Swimming & Diving Team, Marien was a five-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-America in diving for UWL. She won the three-meter diving national title in 1989 and placed second in 1988, fifth in 1987 and sixth in 1986. Marien was third in the one-meter competition in 1988 to earn All-America honors.

She won two conference titles, capturing the one-meter crown in 1988 and the three-meter title in 1989.
 
Marien helped lead UWL to four top-12 finishes at the NAIA Championships, including seventh in 1988, 10th in 1987 and 12th in 1986 and 1989.

A native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Marien graduated from UWL in 1989 with a degree in business finance.
