Hastings, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team is in first place after day one of the Gustie Spring Classic hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Saturday.
 
THE BASICS
Results: UWL shot a 322 to sit in first place, two strokes ahead of UW-Eau Claire (324). Gustavus Adolphus is one stroke back in third place (324) while College of Saint Benedict is in fourth (330). Tied for fifth place is St. Olaf College (Minn.), Bethel University (Minn.) and UW-River Falls with a 339.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Allison Balduzzi shot a 78 in round one to three strokes back in fourth place.
• Also in the top five is Allie McBryde who shot a 79 to be tied for fifth.
• Next for the Eagles is Haley Thoeny with an 81 to be tied for 11th while Kiya Bronston is tied for 13th with an 83.  
• Lauren Ambrookian shot an 89 to be tied for 47th. 
• Playing as an individual for the Eagles was Madeline Trannel who shot an 84 to be tied for 21st. .
