Litchfield, Ariz. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team is in 11th place after day one of the SMSU Classic hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University at Wigwam Resort on Monday. 
 
THE BASICS
Results: UWL is in 11th place (345) as Nebraska Kearney leads the way with a team score of 298. In second place is Illinois Wesleyan (299) while Minnesota State is in third place (305), Westmont College (Calif.) is in fourth place (310) and South West Oklahoma is in fifth place (317). 
LOCATION: Wigwam Resort - Blue, Litchfield Park, Ariz. (Par 70, 5,631 yards)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lauren Ambrookian was the top Eagles golfer as she shot an 84 to sit in 41st place.
• Two strokes behind Ambrookian in 47th place is Allie McBryde with an 86 on day one. 
• Next for the Eagles was Haley Thoeny who shot an 87 and is in 51st place. 
• Allison Balduzzi shot an 88 to be in 55th while Kiya Bronston finished with a 92 and is in 63rd place.
• Also play for the Eagles second team was Gabriella Matzek (85, 45th), Nora Gogin (87, 51st), Madeline Trannel (90, 58th), Lucy Nielsen (93, 66th) and Regan Hermanson (108, 69th).
