Reedsburg, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team sits in fifth place after round one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships (presented by Culvers) Friday afternoon at Reedsburg Country Club.
THE BASICS
Results: 5th/8 teams (327) after round one. UW-Stout leads the Championships after shooting a 304 as a team while UW-Whitewater is in second place with a 323. In third place is UW-Eau Claire (324) followed by UW-Stevens Points (326) in fourth, UW-La Crosse (327 in fifth, UW-Oshkosh (331) in sixth. UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls are tied for seventh with a 339.

What is at stake: The winning team will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 19-22, 2026, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Stout's Julia Imai is the clubhouse leader after round one as she shot a 2-over 72.
- Haley Thoeny sits one shot back of the lead after shooting a 75 on Friday afternoon and is tied for second place.
- After shooting an 82 in the first round, Allison Balduzzi is in tied for 16th place.
- One stroke back of Balduzzi is Allie McBryde who is tied for 18th after shooting an 83.
- Next for the Eagles is Claire Kelbel who is tied for 43rd after shooting an 87.
- Kiya Bronston sits tied for 54th after shooting an 89 in the first round.
- Also playing as individuals for the Eagles is Lauren Ambrookian (87,T-43rd), Nora Gogin (87, T-43rd), Gabriella Matzek (88, T-50th), Madeline Trannel (89, T-54th), Lucy Nielsen (90, T-57th) and Regan Hermanson (96, 68th).
