La Crosse, Wis. - Nick Anagnostis, head lacrosse coach at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, served as interim head coach for Greece's Men's National Team during the 2025 European Championships in Wroclaw, Poland.

Greece went 3-1 under Anagnostis.

Anagnostis, the team's defensive coordinator since 2018, was promoted to interim head coach after the head coach had to leave due to a family emergency.

Greece won its next four games under Anagnostis with victories over Norway, Finland and Wales as well as a rematch with Slovakia. Greece fell in its final game by one to the Netherlands to finish 4-4 and place 10th overall out of 24 teams in the championships.

"Our defense only allowed one team to score 10 goals and we played really well on the man-down unit," said Anagnostis. "We allowed only six goals in 34 opportunities." He said Greece had eight players under the age of 20 while the team's 55-year-old goalie was added late to the roster and gave the team a chance to win every game.

The team's face-of unit finished fifth in the tournament.

Antony Tsakos, a redshirt sophomore at NCAA Division I Long Island University (N.Y.), finished third in the tournament with 33 points. IMG Academy junior George Caldroney was 20th in scoring with 22 points.
