Prescott, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's golf team opened the 2024-25 season with three individuals in the top six and a second place finish as a team at the UW-River Falls Invitational.

THE BASICS
Results: UWL finished in second place (329, 325 - 654) behind UW-Stout who finished with a 633 (312, 321). Rounding out the top five was Dakota Wesleyan (337, 334 - 671) in third, UW-Platteville (345, 334 - 679) in fourth and UW-River Falls (350, 334 - 684) in fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, UWL placed second out of the eight school, 13-team tournament with a tournament score of 654. UWL's B team shot a 704 (355, 349) to finish in seventh place while UWL C finished with a 707 (359, 348) to to place eighth.
- Jenna Wiebke was the top finisher for the Eagles with a 157 (77, 80).
- In fifth place was Haley Thoeny with a 160 (81, 79) while Grace Ellison was sixth with a 161 (81, 80).
- The UWL B team was led by Allison Balduzzi with a 170 (85, 85) to finish T-16.

- The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday September 8 when they play in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational at the Eau Claire Country Club.
