Rochester, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's and men's swimming & diving teams completed first day action at the Rochester Invitational Thursday night at the Rochester-Olmstead County Recreation Center Natatorium.
On the women's side, UWL's
Madeline Weber finished third (358.75 points) and
Laci Gottschalk seventh (341.70) in the three-meter diving competition.
The Eagles had a pair of relays record sixth-place finishes.
Libby Cleveland,
Makenzie Wallace,
Emily Schoenbrodt and
Kylee Sommer were sixth (1:48.47) in the 200 medley relay while Schoenbrodt,
Autumn Seebach,
Reilly Eiynck and Sommer finished sixth (7:58.68) in the 800 freestyle relay.
Individually, Cleveland was eighth (24.77), Sommer ninth (24.83) and
Kayla Knaffla tied for 15th (25.05) in the 50 freestyle with Schoenbrodt ninth (59.62),
Maddy Albert-Nelson 12th (1:00.61) and
Sofia Badillo 15th (1:01.72) in the 100 butterfly.
Schoenbrodt was also 10th (2:14.32) in the 200 I.M. with Seebach 11th (2:14.66), Wallace 13th (2:15.63) and Aly Wallander 16th (2:19.20).
Amelia Olson finished 13th (5:24.92),
Claire Vandenhouten 15th (5:27.50) and
Abi Schauske 16th (5:28.83) in the 500 freestyle.
In men's action Thursday, UWL's
Blake Nelson was fifth (20.81) in the 50 freestyle with
Tyler Hartmann was 13th (21.53) and
Jesse Hammes 15th (21.81).
Jacob Ketterling finished ninth (49.58),
Jonah Elfers 14th (52.94) and
Caleb Jondle 15th (53.23) in the 100 butterfly.
Ben Collins was 10th (4:51.45) and
Will Quackenbush 12th (4:52.22) in the 500 freestyle while
Connor Cleveland finished 10th (1:58.72) and Jondel 12th (2:00.44) in the 200 I.M.
In a pair of relays, Hammes, Hartmann, Elfers and Nelson were fifth (1:32.41) in the 200 medley relay while Collins, Cleveland, Jondle and Quackenbush finished seventh (7:03.49) in the 800 freestyle relay.
