La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team earned a 179-114 dual victory over The College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) Saturday in the
Richard Pein Natatorium in Mitchell Hall.
The Eagles'
Madeline Weber took the one-meter diving title (250.05 points) with
Joanne Banaszak winning the three-meter (251.90).
Madison DeBernardo was second (248.85) and
Abbey Thornton third (243.55) in the one-meter competition. Weber placed second (240.80) and
Emma Lieb third (235.55) in the three-meter.
The Eagles won seven individual swimming events, a pair each by
McKenna Biegler,
Ava Pulvermacher and
Makenzie Wallace. Biegler captured the 500 (5:29.09) and 1,650 (19:04.05) freestyle with Pulvermacher taking the 200 freestyle (2:03.63) and 400 I.M. (4:52.50). Wallace won the 100 (1:10.58) and 200 (2:35.07) breaststroke.
UWL's
Zoey Rank won the 100 backstroke (1:00.08).
Shefali Ramakrishnan had a pair of top-three finishes, placing second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.16) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:01.96).
Greta Wiskus was second (24.62) and
Ellie Brown third (24.87) in the 50 freestyle Saturday with
Libby Cleveland second (55.48) and
Hannah Wadholm third (57.21) in the 100 freestyle.
UWL's
Ava Newman finished second (2:04.48) and
Ella Stadler third (2:05.27) in the 200 freestyle with
Kyra Bogenschuetz third (19:40.68) in the 1,650 freestyle.
Emily Hauke was second (1:12.35) and
Brooke Laube third (1:12.37) in the 100 breaststroke while
Abby Gierke placed second (2:26.02) in the 200 butterfly. Mikayla Knaffla finished second (2:17.02) and
Avary Calonder third (2:18.10) in the 200 backstroke.
UWL swept both relays on Saturday with Knaffla, Rank, Ramakrishnan and Wiskus winning the 400 medley relay (4:04.25) and Wiskus, Ramakrishnan, Brown and Cleveland the 200 freestyle relay (1:38.70).
UWL returns to action Friday, November 21 at the Luther College (Iowa) Invitational.
