La Crosse, Wis. - With two weeks until the National Collegiate Athletic Conference Dividsion III Outdoor Championships, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team has two home track meets left for final opportunities for Eagles to qualify. First up was the Uncaged Eagle Open hosted by UWL on Friday night.

• Up next: Prior to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championship May 21-23, UWL will host the Final Qualifier on Thursday May 14. 

 THE RESULTS

    FIELD EVENTS

• Triple Jump: Three of the top four finishers in the triple jump were Eagle including event winner Carter Pearson with a jump of 48-10. In third place was Gavin Sargeant with a mark of 46-4 3/4 while Gabe Olsen was fourth (46-2). 
• Javelin - With a throw of 168-8, Luke Schroeder finished fifth in the Javelin and teammate Nate Lawrence finished in sixth (166-3). 
• Long Jump - Sebastian Jefferson and Triton Schmidt finished first and second, respectively, in the long jump. Jefferson won the event with a jump of 23-814 while Schmidt finished with a mark of 23-5 1/2. 
• Pole Vault - Surpassing a personal best and leading three Eagles in the top six of the pole vault was Alex Wagner with a mark of 16-7 1/4 to finish third overall. Tying for sixth place was Ethan Brissette and Josh Brunner as they cleared 15-11 1/4. 

   
    TRACK EVENTS 

• 100-meter Dash - UWL had three of the top four finishers in the 100-meter dash including event winner Landon Gallun with a time of 10.46. Teammate Evan Maurud finished right behind Gallun with a time of 10.56 while Caeden Oppold was fourth (10.76). 
• 200-meter Run - Maurud also finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.34. 
• 800-meter Run - Tyler Heiman was the top Eagle finisher in the 800-meter run as he finished second with a time of 1:50.02. Jayce Kiehne finished sixth (1:51.40) while Aiden Jakubic was eighth (1:52.78). 
• 1500-meter Run - Jayden Zywicki broke a 48-year old record to win the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:44.64. Jim Hanson held the previous record of 3:45.34 set in 1978. Aidan Manning finished fourth (3:50.37) while Nico Castellanos was fifth (3:53.38). 
• 110-meter Hurdles - With a time of 14.35, Aaron Poelma finished third in the 110-meter hurdles.
• 400-meter Hurdles - Zachary Nyquist was the lone Eagle in the 400-meter hurdles as he finished seventh with a time of 53.95. 
• 3000-meter Steeplechase - Charles Vater won the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:54.75 while Chase Altergott finished fifth (902.85). 
• 4x100-meter Relay - The relay team of Oppold, Martin Lindholm, Owen Preimesberger and Paul Lough finished third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 41.17.
