La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over UW-Whitewater in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament Championship (presented by Culver's) Saturday afternoon at Green Island Tennis Park.
The Eagles, 32nd in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III rankings, improve to 20-2 on the season while the Warhawks, ranked 42nd, drop to 12-8.
With the win, UWL earns the league's automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships. The Eagles secure their second appearance in the national tournament in school history with the first coming in 2001.
UWL earned its second appearance in the NCAA III Championships.
UWL earned the doubles point after earning a pair of wins Saturday.

The Eagles claimed the dual victory with three singles wins. Bailey defeated Weaver at No. 1 (2-6, 7-6, 6-1), Jorgenson beat Crystina Lee at No. 4 (2-6, 6-2, 6-1) and
Lauren Lindow defeated Kaitlyn Remke at No. 5 (7-6, 6-2). Jorgenson gave UWL a 3-2 lead with her win while Bailey came back from a set down to force a 3-3 tie. Lindow earned the final team point with her victory.
UW-Whitewater earned victories with Ha defeating Roth at No. 2 (7-5, 6-2), Asfeld beating Stadter at No. 3 (6-4, 6-4) and Ashley Adkisson defeating Cady at No. 6 (6-3, 7-6).
UWL, the tournament's top-seed, claimed the 2025 WIAC regular season title with a 6-0 dual record in the fall. It marked the Eagles' 16th league title in school history and first since 2006. Head coachÂ

The Eagles finished undefeated in conference duals for the third time in school history (2005, 2006, 2025).
UWL went 1-1 in the 2001 NCAA Division III Championships in its first appearance in the tournament. The Eagles defeated DePauw University (Ind.) in the Midwest Regional Semifinals (5-4) before losing to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) in the Midwest Regional Finals (8-1).
The NCAA Division III selections will be announced Monday, May 4 with the first round held Friday, May 8. A total of 49 teams earn bids to the NCAA Championships, including 37 automatic qualifiers and 12 at-large teams.
