St. Peter, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team concluded action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional and Midwest Open Sunday. No team scores were recorded.
At the ITA Midwest Regional, UWL's
Aiden Meixl went 2-1 while
Tyler Schneider and
Kyle Hehli each finished 1-1.
The Eagles had four teams entered in the doubles competition. Schneider and
Jack Hehli advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-1 record. The duo opened with an 8-2 victory over Carter Michael/Seth Smigel of UW-Whitewater followed by a 8-2 win over Alex Draeger/Nam Tran of Saint John's University (Minn.) in the second round. The duo defeated the fifth-seed Francisco Silveira/Linus Bangert of Carthage College (Wis.) in the third round by the score of 8-5. Schneider/Hehli dropped their quarterfinal match by the score of 8-4 to top-seed Gage Gohl/Tyler Haddorff of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.).

Brady Horstmann went 0-1.
In singles play at the Midwest Open, Fortney advanced to the quarterfinals in the "B" Draw. He went 3-1, opening with a victory (6-3, 6-1) over Aadityaa Juniwal of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.). Fortney defeated (6-1, 6-4) Pranav Kannan of MSOE (Wis.) in the second round and earned the win (6-3, 6-0) over Anshul Satav of Grinnell College (Iowa) in the third round. He lost (6-4, 6-1) to Gerado Ramirez Mainou of Luther College (Iowa) in the quarterfinals.
Hinchcliffe went 2-1 and Horstmann 1-1 in the "B" Singles while Aranda finished 0-1. Horstman went 1-1 in the consolation draw.
Ben Schneider went 0-1 in the "G" Singles bracket.
