Hehli, Hinchcliffe, Horstmann and Schneider Named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

La Crosse, Wis. – Four members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team have been named to the 2025-26 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.

Seniors Jack Hehli of West Salem (H.S.), Luke Hinchcliffe of Stevens Point (SPASH), Brady Horstmann of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Xavier) and sophomore Tyler Schneider of Whitefish Bay (H.S.) picked up the academic accolades. 

It is the third straight CSC Academic All-District® honor for Hehli, Hinchcliffe and Horstmann and first for Schneider. Hehli, Hinchcliffe and Horstmann have been members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Scholastic Honor Roll the last three seasons while Schneider earned the award last year. 

All four are members of UWL's Dean's List.

A biomedical science major and chemistry minor with a 3.78 grade point average, Hehli went 4-0 in singles this year, going 4-0 at No. 6. He was 13-10 in doubles.

Hehli and Schneider advanced to the doubles quarterfinals at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional.
Majoring in accounting and data analytics with a 3.75 cumulative grade point average, Hinchcliffe finished 12-9 in singles. He was also 6-1 in doubles play.

A biochemistry and biology: biomedical science major with a 3.69 grade point average, Horstmann finished 13-8 in singles, going 4-0 at No. 5. He finished 6-1 in doubles.

Horstmann was named to the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team for the third straight season. He was named the 2025-26 WIAC Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete, the first UWL student-athlete to earn the honor since the conference reinstated the sport in 2023-24.

Schneider is a biology major and chemistry minor with a 4.00 grade point average. He earned All-WIAC West Division First Team Singles this year after going 11-8 in singles, including 10-7 at No. 1. Schneider went 13-6 in doubles.

It is Schneider's second straight selection to the All-WIAC West Division First Team in singles. He was named the 2024-25 WIAC West Division Newcomer of the Year.
UWL finished 14-6 this season, including 2-1 in the WIAC, under head coach Bill Hehli.
 
Student-athletes must have competed in 75% of matches with team scores.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3, 2026.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
