Cady, Lindow and Samuelson Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Honors

La Crosse, Wis. – Three members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team have been named to the 2024-25 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.
 
Sophomores Hannah Cady of Delafield (Arrowhead), Lauren Lindow of East Troy (H.S.) and Maia Samuelson of New Berlin (Eisenhower) picked up the academic accolades. 
 
All three student-athletes were named to the 2023-24 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Scholastic Honor Roll.

A finance major with a 3.55 grade point average, Cady went 12-2 in singles this season, including 6-0 at No. 6 singles. She captured the WIAC title at No. 6 singles with a 2-0 record to earn All-WIAC First Team honors. After a first round bye, Cady defeated Courtney Carpenter of UW-Oshkosh in the second round (6-1, 6-2) and won the league title over Crystina Lee of UW-Whitewater (3-6, 6-4, 10-2). Cady was 4-0 in conference duals.
 
Cady and Samuelson finished 23-6 overall in doubles, finishing second at No. 2 doubles at the league championships to earn All-WIAC Second Team accolades. The duo went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles and 15-2 at No. 2 while finishing 5-1 in WIAC matches.
 
Majoring in sport management with a 4.00 cumulative grade point average, Lindow earned a pair of All-WIAC Second Team honors this season. She was second at No. 3 singles at the WIAC Championships and placed second at No. 3 doubles with senior Emma Heinert of Winona, Minn. (H.S.). Lindow finished 21-5 in singles, including 6-0 in WIAC matches. She led UWL in overall victories and was 14-2 at No. 3 singles. Lindow was named to the 2024-25 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Lindow and Heinert were 11-6 in doubles, including 4-1 in conference duals. The duo were named the WIAC Doubles Team of the Week for August 26-September 1 after earning the victory at No. 3 doubles in UWL's win over UW-Whitewater. It marked the Eagles' first dual win over the Warhawks since October 7, 2006, snapping a 17-match losing streak. It was UW-Whitewater's first WIAC dual loss since UWL's win in 2006. UW-Whitewater had won 102 consecutive conference duals.
 
A biology (pre-med) major with a 3.67 grade point average, Samuelson went 14-6 in singles this year. She went 2-0 at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, 6-4 at No. 4 and 1-0 at No. 1. Samuelson went 4-1 in WIAC matches. She earned 2024-25 All-WIAC Second Team honors at No. 4 singles with her second-place finish at the league championships.
 
Along with finishing second at No. 2 doubles with Cady, Samuelson and Cady were named the WIAC Doubles Team of the Week September 2-8. The duo earned pair of victories at No. 2 doubles over UW-Oshkosh and Ripon College (Wis.).
 
Student-athletes must have competed in 70% of matches with team scores. 
 
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
