La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and UW-River Falls lacrosse teams are joining forces to raise funds to support pediatric cancer research, partnering with LaCROSSEe Out Cancer with the inaugural Bird Bowl on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Â
This year's contest is set to played at UWL's Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex on April 2 at 5 p.m.  UWL and UW-River Falls face off in the last game of each season starting in 2027.

Â
A trophy will be presented to the winning team each season with game tied to a charitable initiative. Both teams will partner with LaCROSSe Out Cancer this season.Â
Â
The goal is to raise $5,000.00 between both programs. UWL and UW-River Falls will order shirts for each teams' staff and players to wear during pregame warm-ups.
Â
"We're very excited to be entering into this rivalry series with UW-River Falls," said UWL Head Coach
Nick Anagnostis. "It was important to both Coach (Talia) Hayes at UW-River Falls and myself to have the event tied to a charitable initiative each year and LaCROSSe out Cancer is a fantastic organization. We couldn't be prouder to be supporting them in the inaugural game of the event."

Each day, 47 American children are diagnosed with cancer and more children under 20 years old are lost to cancer annually than any other disease. Advancing research that has a high potential for saving lives and doing so without the toxic side effects that are prevalent today is the only solution.
Starting on Wednesday, March 26, one week before this year's contest, UWL and UW-River Falls will take on the challenge of completing 47 reps daily, be it workout or practice session reps, to raise awareness and show their commitment to the cause.
