Madison, Wis. - Six members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team have been named to the 2026 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

Ava Schiltz of
Prior Lake, Minn. (H.S.) and senior defender
Lydia Spencer of
Minneapolis, Minn. (St. Paul Central) were named to the All-WIAC First Team. Schiltz was also selected the WIAC Midfielder of the Year and named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete.

Ava Schiltz
It is the third career all-conference honor for Maloney and Schiltz and second for McCann. Maloney was named to the 2024 All-WIAC Honorable Mention and 2025 All-WIAC First Team while Schiltz earned 2024 and 2025 all-conference first team laurels. Schiltz is the first player in school history to be named first team all-conference three times. McCann was voted to the 2025 All-WIAC Second Team.
Maloney and Schiltz tied for the team lead in goals (51) and shots (107) this season while Schiltz led in assists (17) and points (68). Maloney finished second in points (67) and tied for second in assists (16).
Maloney led UWL in draw controls (78) this year and finished second in shots on goal (80) while staring all 18 games. She recorded a goal in all 18 games with 14 multiple-goals contests. Maloney finished with a season-high six goals versus UW-Eau Claire (April 22). She had a season-high six points against UW-Eau Claire, MSOE, Wis. (March 4), Illinois Wesleyan University (March 7), UW-Stevens Point (April 8) Augsburg University, Minn. (April 15) and Hamline University, Minn. (April 25).
Lydia Spencer
She ranks second in school history in shots (302), tied for second in assists (55), and third in goals (140), points (195) and draw controls (187). Maloney is also fifth in career ground balls (89) and sixth in caused turnovers (187). She currently ranks third in the WIAC in draw controls per game (4.33), tied for sixth in goals (2.83) and shots (5.94) per game and 10th in points (3.72) per game.
Leading the Eagles in shots on goal (83) and game-winning goals (3), Schiltz recorded multiple goals in 14 of 18 games. She had at least one goal in all 18 contests with a season-high six versus UW-Stout (March 28). Schiltz, a starter in all 18 games, finished with a season-high seven points against UW-Stout and Hamline, Minn. (April 29). She recorded at least three goals in nine different games.
Gretchen McCann
Schiltz is the first player in school history to earn the WIAC Midfielder of the Year. She is UWL's all-time leader in goals (223), assists (62), points (285) and shots (461). Schiltz ranks second in draw controls (191), third in caused turnovers (46) and sixth in ground balls (84). She started all 70 games in her four-year UWL career.
She is tied with Maloney for sixth in the WIAC in goals (2.83) and shots (5.94) per game while ranking eighth in assists (3.78) and tied for eighth in draw controls (3.33).
She is the second straight UWL player to be named the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete, joining
Kaley Hendrick in 2024-25. An exercise sport science major and nutrition minor, Schiltz has a 3.70 cumulative grade point average. She is a two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and a member of UWL's Dean's List six semesters.
McCann, Spencer and Jenson started all 18 games this year, helping UWL's defense allow 8.39 goals per game. The Eagles had 13 games of allowing nine or fewer goals, including a season-low three versus Illinois Tech (March 22), UW-Stevens Point (April 8) and Augsburg, Minn. (April 15). UWL leads the WIAC in draw controls per game (14.17).
McCann finished with a season-high three ground balls and three draw controls against The College of Saint Benedict, Minn. (April 18). She had four contests with two ground balls. McCann recorded two draw ground balls and two draw controls versus Carroll University, Wis. (March 14). After transferring from Eastern Michigan University, McCann started all 35 games she appeared in at UWL.
Stefania Rossi
Spencer had a season-high four ground balls in four different games, coming against Aurora University, Ill. (March 20), UW-Stevens Point (April 8), Saint Benedict, Minn. (April 18) and Hamline, Minn. (April 25). She recorded a goal versus Augsburg, Minn. (April 15) with two shots. Spencer played in 60 career games at UWL, including 38 starts.
Jenson was named to the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team for the second time in her career after earning the honor in 2024. The all-sportsmanship team is chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It includes one member from each school. Jenson was a 2024 All-WIAC Honorable Mention choice and started all 69 games in her career. She ranks third in school history in ground balls (98). Jenson had a season-high five ground balls versus Edgewood University, Wis. (March 11) this year.
Anna Jenson
Rossi started 15 games in goal, finishing 11-4 on the season with a 9.32 goals against average. She recorded a .447 save percentage and ranks fifth in the conference in ground balls per game (2.80). Rossi finished with a season-high six ground balls versus Saint Benedict, Minn. (April 18).
She had five games this year with at least 10 saves with a season-high 14 versus Carthage College, Wis. (Feb. 28) and Saint Benedict, Minn. (April 18).
UWL finished 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the WIAC this season under second-year head coach
Nick Anagnostis. The Eagles' 13 victories set a single-season school record, breaking the record of 12 set in 2023 (12-5) and 2024 (12-6).
UWL also set single-season school records in ground balls (423) and draw controls (255) this year.
