Menomonie, Wis./Eau Claire, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's tennis team earned at least a share of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season championship with a pair of wins Friday.
The Eagles earned a 7-0 victory at UW-Stout and a 7-0 win at UW-Eau Claire on Friday to improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the WIAC.
UWL can clinch the conference championship outright with a victory over UW-Oshkosh on Tuesday, October 14 at Green Island Tennis Park in La Crosse.
It is UWL's 16th league title in school history and first since 2006. Head coach Bill Hehli has led the Eagles to four (2003, 2005, 2006, 2025) WIAC regular season championships.
The conference champion is determined by regular season standings. The WIAC Tournament will be held in April 2026 with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships.

In Friday's win over UW-Stout, UWL lost only two games in the three doubles matches to start the dual. Tasha Bailey/Lily Jorgenson at No. 1 doubles and Caitlyn Stadter/Maia Samuelson at No. 2 doubles both won by scores of 6-1. The Eagles' Lauren Lindow/Emma Kappel earned the victory at No. 3 doubles by the score of 6-0.
UWL dropped only five games in sweeping the six singles matches with UW-Stout. Shelby Roth (No. 1), Lindow (No. 2) and Hannah Cady (No. 3) all won by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Samuelson earned the victory at No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-1) while Izabelle Brinkman won at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-0) and Zoe Klicker recorded the victory at No. 6 singles (6-0, 6-2).
Versus UW-Eau Claire, UWL won all three doubles matches to earn the team point. Bailey/Roth took a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles; Cady/Samuelson earned a 6-3 victory at No. 2 while Jorgenson/Stadter picked up a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles swept the six singles matches. Bailey (No. 1), Roth (No. 2), Lindow (No. 4), Jorgenson (No. 5) and Cady (No. 6) earned wins in straight sets while Stadter (No. 3) won in three sets.
UWL returns to action Sunday, October 12 hosting Hamline University (Minn.) at 1 p.m.
