Pittsford, N.Y. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team is in third-place after the second day of action Friday at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championships at Polisseni Track and Field Complex. The championships are being hosted by St. John Fisher University (N.Y.) and Visit Rochester.
The Eagles have 17.5 team points while Loras College (Iowa) leads with 22.0 and Ithaca College (N.Y.) is second with 18.0. Tufts University (Mass.) is in fourth-place with 16.0 points. A total of 45 teams have scored points.

UWL's
Skye Digman won the national title in the shot put Friday with a throw of 49-9. She is the fifth thrower in school history to win the national title in the shot put and first since Kim Dankemeyer in 1995. Cindy Lensmire (1983), Donna Oedsma (1985) and Jessie Coonen (1993) also captured the NCAA Division III title.
It is Digman's eighth career NCAA Division III Outdoor All-America award, including second in this year's championships after placing third in the discus throw on Thursday. She earns her third career All-America honor in the shot put, finishing seventh in 2019 and third in 2021. It is her second career NCAA III Outdoor title after winning the discus throw last year. Digman will compete in the hammer throw on Saturday, May 27.

Araceli De Leo Lopez earned her first career NCAA III All-America accolade on Friday after she finished tied for eighth (12-5 1/2) in the pole vault. UWL's
Ashley O'Connell finished tied for 18th (11-5 3/4) in the pole vault.
Skylar White and
Allison Anderson completed action in the heptathlon on Friday with White finishing 11th with 4,657 points and Anderson 20th with 4,354. The heptathlon was completed with the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run on Friday. Athletes competed in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash on Thursday.
In preliminary action on the track Friday, UWL's
Emma Lawrence,
Lauren Jarrett and
Maddie Hannan each advanced to Saturday's finals. Lawrence moved onto the 100-meter hurdles final with the third-fastest time (13.75) in the preliminaries. The finals are set for Saturday, May 27 at 1 p.m. Jarrett recorded the fastest-time (11.60) in the 100-meter dash preliminaries to advance to Saturday's final at 1:40 p.m.
Maddie Hannan
Hannan registered the fifth-fastest time in the 800-meter run at 2:09.93. She'll run in the finals on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Brooke McDowell failed to advance in the 100-meter hurdles (14.49) while
Emily Dawidowich did not advance to the 100-meter dash (12.18) and
Greta Koehler did not move onto the final in the 800-meter run (2:12.16).
