Platteville, Wis - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team completed action Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational. No team scores were recorded.
In Friday's action,
Molly Novotny was fifth (16:37.13) and
Brooklyn Luebke eighth (16:52.89) in the 5,000-meter run. The Eagles'
Ella Puls placed fourth (170-9) and
Jadyn Roden sixth (165-5) in the hammer throw.
UWL won eight events on Saturday, including four in the field.
Chloe Kessenich captured the shot put (43-3 ¼) while
Regan Scott won the long jump (19-1 ½) and
Mackenzey Kronberg the triple jump (38-0 ¼). The Eagles'
Madison Habberstad won the pole vault (12-10 ¼).
On the track, the Eagles also won four events.
Amber Grosse took the 100-meter hurdles (14.49),
Andie Otto the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.57) and
Anna Plautz the 200-meter dash (24.27). UWL also won the 4x100-meter relay with
Julie Yang,
Anika Reiland,
Makenna Zak and Plautz (46.47).
Other top eight field event finishes included
Lydia Delene third (41-1 ¼) in the shot put while
Noelle Hackenmueller was fifth (114-8) and Puls eighth (113-7) in the javelin throw. Roden was seventh (131-11) in the discus throw.
UWL had seven of the top eight finishers in Saturday's pole vault. Along with Habberstad winning the event,
Jackie Bergeron was third (11-10 ½) with
Emily Shafron and
Gabby Patterson tied for fourth (11-4 ½).
Amanda VanCalster and
Sophie Herriot tied for sixth (11-4 ½) with Nora DeMaria eighth (10-10 ¾).
Along with Scott winning the long jump,
Maya Evans placed second (18-11 ¼), Grosse third (18-4),
Jenna Miller fifth (17-11 ¼) and
Ashley Davies eighth (17-7 ¾). Kronberg won the triple jump with
Jaden Hackel second (37-4 ¾),
Josie Blum fifth (37-0 ½) and
Ashley Davies sixth (36-10 ¼).
Izzy Bender finished third (5-4 ¼) and
Ainsley Hansen fourth (5-4 ¼) in the high jump.
UWL had five of the top seven finishers in the 100-meter hurdles. Along with Grosse taking the title,
Brie Eckerman was second (14.76),
Megan Zemke third (14.88),
Olivia Navin fifth (15.04) and
Madeline Thoreson seventh (15.79).
Six of the top seven finishers in the 100-meter dash with Plautz second (12.02), Yang third (12.14), Zak fourth (12.24),
McKenna Sedlacek fifth (12.28), Reiland sixth (12.30) and
Taylor Molling seventh (12.33).
In the 200-meter dash, Zak was third (24.93),
Marley McIntyre fifth (24.99), Molling sixth (25.15) and Reiland eighth (25.33).
Zoe Lain placed second (56.81) in the 400-meter dash with
Jocelyn Thomson seventh (58.87) and
Sarah Grubbs eighth (58.99).
Gretchen McNeal was fourth (1:05.46) in the 400-meter hurdles while
Sophia Ferguson eighth (1:07.55).
The Eagles'
Alli Thomas finished second (2:16.34),
Kylie Stockton third (2:16.89) and
Grace Kern fourth (2:17.36) in the 800-meter run.
The 4x400-meter relay of
Grace Kern, Thomas, McNeal and
Andie Otto placed second (3:51.03).
UWL returns to action Friday, April 17 hosting the Phil Esten Challenge while also competing in the Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) Bryan Clay Invitational.
