La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team hosted the UWL Open Friday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded.
The Eagles won 10 events on Friday, including three by
Skye Digman. She captured the title in the discus throw (144-3), hammer throw (182-10) and shot put (50-7 1/4). Other field event winners included
Gabby Johnson in the javelin throw (132-1).
UWL won six track titles, including the 4x100-meter relay of
Bella Seitz,
Lauren Jarrett,
Emma Lawrence and
Emily Dawidowich with a school record time of 45.95. The relay broke the record of 45.97 set by Jaime Ludwigson, Meg Heafy, Claire Elliott and Maya Vazquez in 2013.
Lawrence and Dawidowich also won individual events on the track Friday with Lawrence capturing the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.47) and Dawidowich the 200-meter dash (24.65).
Lilly Halvorson won the 400-meter dash (57.75),
Julia Anderson the 1,500-meter run (4:36.88) and
Katelyn Chadwick the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:49.37).
Top-three finishers in the field events included
Ainsley Hansen second (5-7 3/4) and
Macie Todd third (5-6 1/2) in the high jump with
Samantha Barrett second (37-10 1/2) and
Miah Keller third (37-8 1/2) in the triple jump.
Audrey Braun was third (17-5 1/4) in the long jump.
Skylar White placed second (129-4) and
Ella Puls third (125-0) in the javelin throw while
Leah Surprenant was third (174-8) in the hammer throw.
Ashley O'Connell finished third (12-2 3/4) in the pole vault.
Melanie Kunze was second (25.22) and
Brooke McDowell third (25.28) in the 200-meter dash while
Greta Koehler was second (58.45) in the 400-meter dash. Kimberly Carviou placed second (4:42.44) in the 1,500-meter run while
Amber Johnson was third (2:20.50) in the 800-meter run. The Eagles' 4x400-meter relay of
Allison Anderson,
Mara Schroeder,
Ellie Jillson and Koehler finished second (3:53.33).
UWL returns to action Thursday, May 18 hosting the UWL Final Qualifier at 3 p.m.
