UW-Eau Claire Invitational Results
La Crosse, Wis. - Members of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team completed action at two meets on Friday. No team scores were recorded.
At the Drake Relays, UWL's
Bella Seitz,
Lauren Jarrett,
Lilly Halvorson and
Greta Koehler placed third overall in the sprint medley with a school record time of 4:02.14. The relay broke the UWL record of 4:02.44 set by Caitlin Wippermann, Jenna Halvorson, Claire Elliott and Rebecca Scheuermann in 2012.
Amber Johnson,
Morgan Jennings,
Emily Dawidowich and
Emma Lawrence advanced to the 4x400-meter relay final after Friday's preliminary time of 3:46.13. The relay will compete in the final Saturday.
Skye Digman
Melanie Kunze finished 13th (1:01.51) and
Brooke McDowell 14th (1:02.00) in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday at the Drake Relays. In preliminary action, Lawrence failed to qualify for the final in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02 while Jarrett failed to qualify for the 100-meter dash final with a time of 12.01.
The Eagles'
Maddy Vantassel placed 16th (10:46.42) and
Emma Malooly 18th (10:49.89) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Drake Relays on Thursday.
UWL's 4x100-meter relay of Seitz, Jarrett, Lawrence and Dawidowich placed second (46.23) at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Relays on Thursday.
In Friday's UW-Eau Claire Dick and Mary Johnson Invitational, UWL won six events, including three by
Skye Digman. She captured the discus throw (152-5), hammer throw (181-3) and shot put (50-6). Digman broke her own school record of 50-2 in the shot put set earlier this season at the UW-Platteville Invite.
Carly Schreurs won the triple jump (36-8 1/2) on Friday.
On the track,
Maddie Hannan captured the 800-meter run (2:09.69) while
Kylie Stockton,
Ellie Jillson,
Anna Ayd and
Izi Knoernschild won the 4x400-meter relay (3:59.30). Hannan set a school record in the 800-meter run, breaking Mary Kastelic's record of 2:10.33 set in 1983.
Other top-six finishers in the field events at UW-Eau Claire included
Skylar White placing second (129-4),
Gabby Johnson fourth (123-8),
Ella Puls fifth (122-6) and
Amber Grosse sixth (106-6) in the javelin throw.
Leah Surprenant was third (179-0) in the hammer throw with
Holly Wardynski fourth (167-8) and
Izzy Carroll fifth (157-5). Carroll was also fifth (41-7 3/4) in the shot put and sixth (125-8) in the discus throw.

Audrey Braun placed second (17-6) and
Madison Page fifth (16-8 3/4) in the long jump.
Abby Meidl finished third (11-8) in the pole vault with
Ashley O'Connell fourth (11-2 1/4) and
Nina Morrison fifth (11-2 1/4).
On the track, Grosse was second (15.11) and
Macee Redman sixth (15.77) in the 100-meter hurdles.
Gretchen McNeal placed second (1:05.55) in the 400-meter hurdles. In the 400-meter dash, UWL's
Anna Ayd was third (1:00.51),
Grace Albee fourth (1:00.58),
Kaydee Johnson fifth (1:00.87) and
Grace Lundie sixth (1:01.17). Knoernschild placed third (26.58) in the 200-meter dash and Kimberly Carviou was sixth (2:20.20) in the 800-meter run.
UWL returns to action Saturday, April 29 at the Drake (Iowa) Relays. Ainsley Hansen and Macie Todd will compete in the high jump while the 4x400-meter relay will run in the finals.
