Reedsburg, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team sits in second place after round one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships (presented by Culvers) Friday afternoon at Reedsburg Country Club.

What is at stake: The team winner receives an automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships scheduled for May 21-24, 2024 at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky. The national event will be hosted by Transylvania Universtiy (Ky.).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Eagles shot a 332 to be in second place after the first round. The Eagles are eight strokes behind tournament leader UW-Stout (324). UW-Whitewater (334) is in third place while UW-Platteville (346) is fourth, UW-Stevens Point (350) fifth, UW-Oshkosh (355) sixth, UW-Eau Claire (356) seventh and UW-River Falls (360) eighth.
- Senior Andrea Schleeper led the Eagles as she shot an 80 in round one. Schleeper is in third place, five strokes back of tournament leaders Abbey Filipiak (UW-Stout) and Sydney Grimm (UW-Stout) who are tied with a 75.
- Allison Balduzzi shot an 82 and is tied for seventh place while Nora Cerroni and Grace Ellison each shot an 85 which puts them tied for 16th.
- Sophie Denure is in 31st place after shooting an 89.
- Playing as an indiviudal from the Eagles was Haley Thoeny (81, T-4th), Claire Kelbel (84, T-13th) Erin Rosencrantz (85, T-16th), Lauren Ambrookian (88, T-27th), Jenna Wiebke (90,T-36th) and Allie McBryde (92, T-47th).

- Round two of the WIAC Championships will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The Third and final round of the championships is scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
