Eau Claire, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse golf team captured the two-day UW-Eau Claire Doug Georgianni Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Eau Claire Country Club. The Eagles finished with a two-day total of 642 (313-329). The opening round on Saturday was played at Wild Ridge Golf Course.
Macalester College (Minn.) placed second with a total of 670 (326-344) while College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) was third at 676 (353-323). A total of 12 teams competed.Â
UWL's five golfers all placed in the top-12 Sunday, including
Andrea Schleeper finishing second with a two-day total of 157 (80-77, +14) and
Molly Larsen third at 158 (76-82, +15).
The Eagles'
Allison Balduzzi was sixth at 161 (76-85, +18),
Maija Tanberg tied for ninth at 167 (81-86, +24) and
Grace Ellison finished 12th with a score of 168 (83-85, +25).Â
UW-Eau Claire's Lexi Meade won medalist honors with a two-day total of 153 (79-74, +10).
A total of 58 golfers completed both rounds.Â
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 17 at the D3 Classic at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minnesota.Â
