Indianapolis, Ind. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse junior
Kimberly Steinert of
Oshkosh (West) has been selected to compete in the 2021 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships, the organization announced Wednesday.
Steinert is one 32 singles players to earn a bid to the NCAA Division III Individual Championships on May 28-30 at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She is the second UWL player in school history to advance to the NCAA Division III Individual Championship, joining
Annette Geuder who qualified in 2001.

The NCAA III Women's Tennis Committee selected a percentage of singles players and doubles team from each of the four regions for the individual championships. The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection was based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.
The team championships will take place May 24-26 in Chattanooga.
Steinert is 13-1 at No. 1 singles this year, recording 13 consecutive victories after a season-opening loss on March 6. She went 6-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) matches while also being named to the 2021 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team.
She is 40-14 in her three-year career in singles at UWL, including 14-4 in the WIAC.
