Winona State Easter Invitational Results
Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field squad placed third at the Winona State University Easter Invitational Friday. The Eagles finished with 110.5 team points while Winona State won with 202. Augustana (Ill.) placed second with 139.5. A total of nine teams competed.
UW-River Falls placed fourth (90) followed by UW-Eau Claire (82), UW-Stout (29.5), Minnesota State Mankato (24.5), St. Cloud State, Minn. (11) and St. Mary's, Minn. (9).
UW-L had three individuals come away with titles Friday, including
Maggie May who won the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.11) and triple jump (35-3).
The Eagles'
Kailey Charlton won the 100-meter dash (12.70) and
Caitlin Wippermann took the 200-meter dash (25.56).
Other top finishers on the track included
Kali Kramolis second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.53) and
Rachel Boldt second in the 5,000-meter run (18:35.52).
Karyn Genrich placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:01.98),
Laurel Beck third in the 400-meter dash (1:00.24) and
Megan Thiel third in the 100-meter dash (13.28).
Abby Gustafson finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:11.41) and
Jenna Halvorson fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.52).
UW-L's 4x100-meter relay was third (49.28).
In the field events,
Hannah Mueller was fourth in the long jump (15-9 1/2) and fifth in the triple jump (32-9 3/4).
UW-L returns to action Tuesday, April 26 hosting the UW-L Invitational starting at 3:30 p.m.
