WIAC Championship Results
Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team placed third at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Indoor Championships Saturday night in the Johnson Fieldhouse at UW-Stout. The Eagles, winners of the last four conference titles, finished third Saturday with 108.5 points. UW-Oshkosh won the league title with 160.0 points while UW-Eau Claire was second with 130.5.
UW-Whitewater was fourth (99.0) followed by UW-River Falls (63.0), UW-Stevens Point (61.0), UW-Platteville (46.0), UW-Stout (30.0) and UW-Superior (4.0).
UW-L's
Maggie May earned the conference title in the triple jump (36-9) Saturday. She was also third in the 55-meter dash (7.46).
The Eagles'
Kaitlin Genthe tied for second in the pole vault (11-8) while
Meghan Thomas and
Amy Jo Garinger tied for fourth in the high jump (5-2 1/4). Genthe provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the pole vault.
On the track,
Rebecca Scheuermann,
Jenna Halvorson,
Caitlin Wipperman and
Laurel Beck placed third in the 4x400-meter relay (3:59.00). The relay met the provisional qualifying time for the national meet. UW-L's 4x200-meter relay of
Kailey Charlton,
Lauren Seidl, Halvorson and Beck were also third (1:48.26).
In the distance medley relay,
Alyssa Luker,
Kristin Lillie,
Kailey Lewis and
Emma Crawford placed fourth (12:51.56) Saturday.
Hannah Mueller finished second (7.37) and
Megan Thiel fourth (7.46) in the 55-meter dash while Charlton was fourth (26.12) and Wipperman fifth (26.12) in the 200-meter dash.
