St. Mary's University Cardinal Open
Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field squad competed at the St. Mary's University Cardinal Open Friday night in Gostomksi Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded, but the Eagles finished with seven individual and one relay champion.
Individually,
Kailey Charlton captured the 55-meter dash (7.21) and long jump (18-3 1/4) while finishing second in the 200-meter dash (26.30). The Eagles'
Maggie May won the 55-meter hurdles (8.67) and placed third in the 55-meter dash (7.58) and 200-meter dash (26.62).
Other winners on the track included
Caitlin Wipperman in the 400-meter dash (59.65) and
Abby Gustafson in the 1,000-meter run (3:09.49).
UW-L also took the 4x400-meter relay (4:13.21).
Along with Charlton's victory in the long jump, UW-L's
Meghan Thomas took the high jump (5-0 1/4) and
Katlin Genthe the pole vault (10-8).
Top finishers on the tracd for UW-L included
Kali Kramolis second (8.99) and
Jena Weigel third (9.54) in the 55-meter hurdles while
Rachel Boldt finished second (5:28.31) and
Emma Crawford third (5:29.01) in the mile run.
Kailey Lewis placed second (1:42.62) and
Macy Olson third (1:43.05) in the 600-meter run while
Kelsey Heinz finished second in the 800-meter run (2:28.79).
Rebecca Scheuermann was third in the 400-meter dash (1:00.01).
The Eagles'
Kristin Lillie finished second in the 1,000-meter run (3:11.31) and
Kelsey Boyle third in the 3,000-meter run (11:08.67).
In the field events,
Christy Moses was second (10-2) and
Andrea Fresen third (9-8) in the pole vault while
Hannah Mueller finished second in the triple jump (35-6).
UW-L returns to action Friday, February 18 hosting Winona State University (Minn.) at 4:30 p.m.
