La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has announced its 2026 volleyball schedule. The Eagles will host seven matches at Mitchell Hall Gymnasium with the home opener scheduled for September 23 versus UW-Eau Claire. UWL has a total of 27 matches scheduled in its 2026 season.
The Eagles finished 21-12 overall and 2-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) last season under Head Coach
Deb Sazama. The 2025 season saw the Eagles finish with the most wins (21) since 2017 and win their first WIAC game since 2022. With their sixth place finish in the WIAC, UWL qualified for the WIAC Tournament where they defeated #3 seed UW-Platteville 29-27, 17-25, 26-24, 25-22 to advance to the semifinals where they fell to #2 seed UW-Eau Claire.
"I am really excited about this season and continuing to build on the progress made last year, commented Coach Sazama. The 2026 class adds size and athleticism to the team and will immediately raise the level of play in the gym. We are excited to travel to and face good competition in Virginia at our first tournament as we prepare for the always demanding WIAC schedule."
