Larson, Nommensen and Sexton Named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team had three players earn academic honors on Tuesday. Senior Taylor Larson of Hartland (Menomonee Falls), junior Grace Nommensen of New Glarus (HS) and junior Kayla Sexton of St. Cloud, Minn. (Cathedral) have been named to the 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday. 

It is the first Academic All-District® selection for Larson, Nommensen and Sexton.

Taylor Larson, Senior Libero
  • Larson is an elementary/middle school education major with a 3.56 grade point average.
  • She is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
  • Larson picked up her first WIAC Honorable Mention All-Conference honor along with being named to the WIAC All-Defensive Team. 
  • She played in all 33 matches including a team high 124 sets. 
  • Larson finished the season with a team high 544 digs while averaging 4.39 per set. Her season total was the second most in the WIAC.
  • Earlier this season, Larson became just the 18th player in school history to surpass the 1,000 dig mark. Larson now has 1,251 digs in her three seasons with the Eagles which is 11th most all-time by an Eagle.

Grace Nommensen, Junior Outside Hitter
  • Nommensen is a marketing major and tourism and event management minor with a 3.69 grade point average. .
  • She is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
  • She played in all 33 matches including 123 sets. 
  • Nomensen finished second on the Eagles with 272 kills and averaging 2.21 kills. 
  • She also recorded four double-doubles (kills and digs) on the season while finishing with 203 digs.

Kayla Sexton, Junior Outside Hitter
  • Sexton is a psychology major - pre-occupational therapy track with a 3.79 grade point average.
  • She is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.
  • Led the Eagles offense with 318 kills while averaging 2.56 kills per set. 
  • Sexton also finished second on the team with 335 digs while recording 13 double-doubles (kills and digs). 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
