NCAA Division III Results
Birmingham, Ala. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track and field team is in fourth-place after the first day of 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Indoor Championships Friday night at the Birmingham Crossplex.
The Eagles have 17.5 team points while Centre University (Ky.) leads with 25.0. Johns Hopkins University (Md.) is second with 20.0 and Williams College (Mass.) third with 19.0.
Madison Habberstad
Massachusetts Institute of Technology is fifth (16.5) followed by UW-Stout sixth (15.5), SUNY Geneseo seventh (13.0) and New York University eighth (11.0). Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.), Central College (Iowa) and Loras College (Iowa) are tied for ninth (10.0). A total of 29 teams scored points.
The Southern Athletic Association and the Birmingham CrossPlex are serving as hosts of the championships.
UWL earned nine NCAA Division III All-America honors on Friday. The Eagles'
Madison Habberstad earned her second career NCAA Division III All-America honor in the pole vault Friday, placing third overall (13-1 ½). She was eighth last season.
The Eagles'
Araceli De Leo Lopez tied for 10
th (12-7 ½) in Friday's pole vault while
Jackie Bergeron tied for 14
th (12-3 ½) and
Nora Waddell placed 16
th (12-3 ½). De Leo Lopez earned NCAA III Second Team All-America honors with her tie for 10
th. She was seventh in 2023 and fourth in 2025.
UWL's 4x400-meter relay set a school record.
Amber Grosse earned individual All-America accolades with a fourth-place finish (3,600 points) in the pentathlon. It is her first career award. The pentathlon includes the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800-meter run.
Ella Puls earned her first career All-America award, finishing eighth (57-0 ¼) in the weight throw.
Jadyn Roden was 10
th (55-4 ¾) in the weight throw to earn All-America Second Team accolades for her first career honor.
UWL's
Maya Evans placed eighth (18-5 ¾) and
Regan Scott 17
th (17-6 ¼) in the long jump Friday with Evans garnering her second career All-America award. She earned NCAA III Second Team All-America honors with a 12
th-place finish a year ago.
The distance medley relay finished fourth to earn NCAA III All-America honors as
Becca Immer,
Sarah Grubbs,
Kalli Vannieuwenhoven and
Molly Novotny set a school record with a time of 11:37.91. It is the first career All-America honor for all four runners. The relay broke the record of 11:39.47 set by Immer,
Macy Reybrock, Vannieuwenhoven and Novotny set earlier this year.
Amber Grosse
In preliminary action on the track, UWL's
Anna Plautz,
Zoe Lain,
Macy Reybrock and
Andie Otto set a school record with the top qualifying time of 3:45.33. The relay broke the record of 3:46.53 set by Plautz, Otto,
Morgan Jennings and Reybrock last season.
Plautz advanced to the 400-meter dash final on Saturday after a qualifying time of 55.82 on Friday. She placed seventh in the preliminaries.
Maya Evans
Scott (8.83) and
Megan Zemke (9.11) failed to advance to the 60-meter hurdles final on Saturday after Scott placed 15
th and Zemke 19
th.
McKenna Sedlacek finished 11
th (7.63),
Julie Yang 13
th (7.64) and
Makenna Zak 16
th (7.66) in the 60-meter dash preliminaries.
The Eagles'
Anika Reiland placed 16
th (25.00) and Zak 19
th (25.16) in the 200-meter dash preliminaries on Friday.
The top-eight qualifiers advance to the finals.
The top-eight individual and relay teams earn NCAA Division III First Team All-America honors while athletes finishing ninth through 16
th individually and ninth through 12
th in relays are named NCAA III Second Team All-America.
