UWL Captures Fifth NCAA III Outdoor Title in School History; Relays Sweep National Titles; 16 All-America Honors Earned Saturday

UWL won its fifth NCAA Division III Outdoor title on Saturday.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team captured its fifth National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships Saturday at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles finished with 53.0 team points.

UWL also won the national title in 1983, 1984, 2015 and 2023. With today's championships, the Eagles have recorded 16 top-three finishes at the NCAA III Championships. Along with the five national crowns, UWL has six runner-up (1986, 1993, 1997, 2021, 2022, 2024) finishes. The Eagles have recorded 34 top-10 finishes at the NCAA III Championships in 44 all-time appearances, including 21 top-four showings. 
4x100 Meter Relay
UWL won its third straight 4x100-meter relay
title on Saturday.


UWL won the Association of Intercollegiate Athletic for Women (AIAW) title in 1982.

It is the third career NCAA Division III Championship for head coach Nickolas Davis. He led the Eagles to a sweep of the 2023 indoor and outdoor championships.

Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) placed second on Saturday with 42.0 points while Johns Hopkins University (Md.) was third with 38.0 and Calvin College (Mich.) fourth with 36.0.

Centre College (Ky.) was fifth (34.0), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) sixth (27.0). UW-Eau Claire and Williams College (Mass.) tied for seventh (25.0) while Central College (Iowa) was ninth (24.0) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology 10th (21.0).

A total of 79 teams scored points.
The top-eight finishers in each event earn NCAA Division III All-America honors while finishers ninth through 16th earn Second Team accolades. 

UWL swept both relays on Saturday with Julia Yang, Anika Reiland, Makenna Zak and Anna Plautz winning the 4x100-meter (45.57). It is UWL's fifth title in school history (2013, 2014, 2024, 2025, 2026), including third straight. Zak and Reiland earned their third (2024, 2025, 2026) title in the event while Yang captured her second (2025).

Plautz, Macy Reybrock, Zoe Lain and Andie Otto won the 4x400-meter relay (3:40.69). The Eagles broke the school record of 3:42.24 set by Jenna Halvorson, Claire Gordee, Shannon Klein and Claire Elliott in 2014. It also broke the stadium record of 3:42.15 by Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2018.

It is the fourth national title in the 4x400-meter relay for UWL, including the first since 2014. The Eagles also won the crowns in 1997 and 2013. It is the second All-America honor in the 4x400-meter relay for Reybrock and Plautz who were members of the fourth-place relay a year ago.

Plautz also earned individual All-America honors on Saturday in the 400-meter dash, finishing third overall (54.28). She broke her own school record of 54.37. She now has three career All-America awards.

In the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday, Otto also earned individual NCAA Division III All-America honors, placing fifth (1:01.43).

Molly Novotny earned NCAA III All-America honors with a seventh-place finish (4:22.14) in the 1,500-meter run. She broke her own school record of 4:25.04 in picking up her first career All-America accolade. Novotny also placed 21st (17:25.59) in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday.

championship since 2014.
In Saturday's field events, four student-athletes earned NCAA III All-America honors in the triple jump Saturday with Samantha Barrett leading the Eagles with an eighth-place finish (39-10 ½). Mackenzey Kronberg was 10th (39-3), Maya Evans 12th (38-8 ¼) and Emily Blaskowski 14th (38-6 ¾).

Kronberg, Evans and Blaskowski each earned NCAA III Second Team accolades. It is Barrett's third career award in the triple jump after finishing fifth in 2022 and eighth in 2024. Evans increases her All-America total to five in her career. She placed 11th in triple jump in 2025 and has three career honors in the long jump, finishing fifth this season, second in 2024 and 14th in 2025.

Jadyn Roden earned NCAA III Second Team All-America honors with a 12th-place finish (173-1) in the hammer throw on Saturday. It is her first career award. The Eagles' Ella Puls did not record a mark in Saturday's hammer throw.
