NCAA III Results
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team leads after the first day of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships Thursday at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles have 19.0 team points.
Augustana College (Ill.), Centre College (Ky.) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College (Calif.) are tied for second with 10.0. New York University is fifth (9.0) with Concordia University Wisconsin, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tufts University (Mass.) tied for sixth (8.0).
Araceli De Leo Lopez placedÂ
fourth in the pole vault.
A total of 27 teams scored points.Â
Madison Habberstad became the first student-athlete in school history to win the pole vault, capturing the title on Thursday with a school record mark of 13-7 ¼. She broke her own school record of 13-5 ¼ set earlier this season. It is Habberstad's second career All-America honor after placing fifth a year ago. Heather Kleckner was UWL's previous top finisher in the pole vault, placing second in 2002.
The Eagles'
Araceli De Leo Lopez also earned NCAA III All-America honors in the pole vault on Thursday, finishing fourth overall (13-1 ½). It is her third career award in the event after placing eighth (2023) and 15th (2025).
Nora Waddell tied for 14th (12-3 ½) on Thursday to earn NCAA Second Team All-America honors. It is her first career award. Â
Maya Evans earned her third career NCAA IIIÂ
All-America honor in the long jump.
In the long jump, the Eagles'
Maya Evans placed fifth (19-4) to earn her fourth career outdoor All-America honor, including third in the long jump. She placed second in 2024 and 14th in 2025. Evans was 11th in the triple jump in 2025. She will compete in the triple jump on Saturday.Â
Regan Scott and
Josie Blum each earned Second Team All-America accolades in the long jump on Thursday with Scott finishing ninth (18-9 ¾) and Blum 12
th (18-7 ¾). It is the first career award for both. The Eagles'
Jenna Miller qualified for the championships, but did not start.
The top-eight finishers in each event earn NCAA Division III All-America honors while finishers ninth through 16th earn Second Team accolades.Â
After four events in the heptathlon, UWL's
Madeline Thoreson is in 16th-place with 2,752 points. The Eagles'
Amber Grosse did not finish the four events on Thursday. Athletes competed in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash on Thursday. The heptathlon concludes on Friday with the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run.Â
Molly Novotny set a school record
in the 1,500-meter run.
In preliminary track action, the Eagles'
Molly Novotny advanced to the 1,500-meter run final on Saturday after breaking her own school record with a time of 4:25.04 on Thursday. She ran a school record 4:26.12 earlier this season.Â
UWL's
Brooklyn Luebke (4:30.90) and
Annika Elliott (4:37.39) failed to advance in the 1,500-meter run.
Andie Otto advanced to the final on Saturday in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.95).
Julia Zalewski (10:31.52) and
Becca Immer (10:31.85) both advanced in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday. Immer earned NCAA III Second Team All-America accolades with a 15th-place finish last year.
UWL's 4x400-meter relay of
Jocelyn Thomson,
Macy Reybrock,
Zoe Lain and Otto advanced to Saturday's final after finishing with the top-qualifying time (3:44.37) in Thursday's preliminaries. Reybrock earned All-America honors on the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay last season.
