NCAA Division III Championships Website
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track and field team is set to compete at the 2026 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Indoor Championships Friday-Saturday, March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
The Southern Athletic Association and the Birmingham CrossPlex are serving as hosts of the championships.
Events start on Friday at 10:20 a.m. with competition starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
UWL won its first indoor national title in 2015 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
UWL placed third at the 2025 NCAA III Indoor Championship with 37.0 team points in Rochester, New York. Massachusetts Institute of Technology captured the national title with 49.0 points. Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) was second with 45.5 and Loras College (Iowa) fourth with 32.0. A total of 66 teams scored points.
UWL has won two indoor national title in school history after taking first in 2015 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and 2023 at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Eagles have placed second at six (1993, 1999, 2001, 2009, 2014, 2022) indoor national championships. UWL has crowned 16 individual or relay champions and 264 NCAA III Indoor All-America honors in school history.
UWL has entries in 12 individual events and both relays for this year's national championships. Twenty-nine women have qualified for the 2026 NCAA III Championships for the Eagles, including multiple qualifiers in seven different events. Four competitors are qualified for the pole vault and triple jump with three in the 60-meter dash. Two student-athletes are qualified in the 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, long jump and weight throw.
In the field events,
Madison Habberstad (13-5 1/4),
Araceli De Leo Lopez (12-10 1/4),
Nora Waddell (12-9 1/2) and
Jackie Bergeron (12-8 3/4) with Habberstad ranked second on the entry list. De Leo Lopez has two career NCAA Division III indoor All-America honors in the pole vault after finishing seventh in 2023 and fourth in 2025. Habberstad also earned All-America awards last year with an eighth-place finish.
Maya Evans (39-10 1/2),
Mackenzey Kronberg (38-10 1/2),
Jaden Hackel (38-7 3/4) and
Emily Blaskowski (38-7 1/2) are entered in the triple jump. Evans (19-2 1/2) is also in the long jump with
Regan Scott (18-10 3/4). Evans, who earned NCAA Division III Second Team All-America accolades with a 12th-place finish in the long jump in 2025, sits second on this year's qualification list in the long jump.
UWL captured the 2023 championship at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
UWL's
Ella Puls (58-6) and
Jadyn Roden (58-1 3/4) are in the weight throw with Puls ranked seventh and Roden eighth.
Madilyn Vander Sanden (46-10) is ranked fifth in the shot put.
Ainsley Hansen competes in the high jump (5-6) for the Eagles. She was second in the high jump in 2023 to earn All-America honors.
Amber Grosse is seeded eighth (3,557 points) in the pentathlon.
On the track, the Eagles'
Julie Yang (7.55),
Makenna Zak (7.56) and
McKenna Sedlacek (7.56) will compete in the 60-meter dash with Yang currently ranked fifth in the event while Zak and Sedlacek tied for eighth. Zak (24.60) and
Anika Reiland (24.55) are entered in the 200-meter dash with
Anna Plautz sixth (55.47) in the 400-meter dash. Plautz is seeded sixth.
Zak earned 2025 NCAA III All-America honors in the 60-meter dash with an eighth-place finish.
Scott (8.70) and
Megan Zemke (8.85) have qualified in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Eagles'
Brooklyn Luebke (9:38.84) is entered in the 3,000-meter run.
UWL's relays are both qualified with
Andie Otto,
Sarah Grubbs,
Macy Reybrock and
Zoe Lain in the 4x400-meter relay (3:47.25) and
Becca Immer, Reybrock,
Kalli Vannieuwenhoven and
Molly Novotny in the distance medley relay (11:32.06). The distance medley relay is seeded third.
Plautz, Otto and Reybrock earned their first career NCAA III Indoor All-America award in 2025 as members of the third-place 4x400-meter relay.
The top-eight individual and relay teams earn NCAA Division III First Team All-America honors while athletes finishing ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th in relays are named NCAA III Second Team All-America.
UWL earned the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year Award for the seventh straight season this year under head coach
Nickolas Davis.
The Eagles won their sixth straight WIAC title and league record 32nd in school history on February 27-28 with 328.0 team points. It is UWL's 13th championship in the last 14 years.
The 328.0 points are the most in conference history at the indoor championships, breaking UWL's previous record of 324.0 in 2023. The Eagles scored at least 17 points in 11 of this year's 17 events, including at least 20 points in nine events (60-meter dash; 200-meter dash; 400-meter dash; 5,000-meter run; 60-meter hurdles; pole vault; long jump; triple jump and pentathlon. The Eagles won eight individual and one relay title.
Davis is in his ninth year as UWL's head coach, leading the Eagles to seven (2018, 2020, 2022-26) conference indoor titles. UWL has also won seven WIAC Outdoor Championships (2018-19, 2021-25) under Davis.
The Eagles finished third at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Championships, earning 33 All-America accolades.
