Glendale, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team opened its 2025-26 season with a 5-2 victory over MSOE (Wis.) Sunday afternoon at Nicolet High School in the Eagles' season-opening dual. The Raiders were also playing their first match of the season.
UWL swept the three doubles matches on Sunday, including

Tyler Schneider earning the win at No. 1 doubles (6-3) over Randy Funez/Carlos Patino.

Aiden Meixl won at No. 2 doubles (6-1) over Miguel Lopez/Clark Rue and
Brady Horstmann/
Luke Hinchcliffe defeated Levi Luis Santos/Carlos Lopez at No. 3 doubles (6-4).
In singles play, UWL took four of the six matches.
Kyle Hehli won at No. 3 (7-5, 6-3) over Lopez while
Anderson Fortney defeated Augusto Eiji Yamazaki at No. 4 (3-6, 6-3, 1-0).
Alex Aranda won at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-0) over Santiago Angulo and Horstmann won by retirement (6-0, 3-0) over Lopez at No. 6.
MSOE (Wis.) won the matches at No. 1 and 2 singles. Funez defeated Meixl at No. 1 singles (1-6, 6-4, 1-0) and Patino earned the victory at No. 2 singles over Hinchcliffe (2-6, 6-3, 1-0).
UWL returns to action Sunday, September 14 at Carroll University (Wis.) at noon.
