Nate Witte of Woodbury, Minn. (East Ridge) have been voted to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Region 9 All-Defensive Team announced by the organization on Thursday. The 10 Region All-Defensive Teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
George Seaman, senior of Jackson (West Bend East), First basemen
- This is Seaman's first time earning ABCA Region All-Defensive Team honors.
- Seaman started all 46 games at first base this season for the Eagles.
- He finished the season with just one error while recording 362 putouts and assisting on another 19.
- Seaman led the Eagles defensively with a .997 fielding percentage.
- Offensively, Seaman led the team in batting average (.366), hits (67), total bases (125), runs scored (50), home runs (16), walks (27) and slugging percentage (.683).
- For the second straight season, Seaman was selected to the WIAC First Team.
- Seaman became just the 10th player in school history to be named an ABCA All-American as he was named to the third team.
Nate Witte, Senior of Woodbury, Minn. (East Ridge), Outfielder
- This is Witte's first time earning ABCA Region All-Defensive Team honors.
- Witte played center field in all 46 games this season, making 45 starts.
- Like Seaman, Witte finished with just one error while recording 142 outs and assisting on another four.
- Witte was second on the Eagles with a .991 fielding percentage.
- A WIAC First Team All-Conference selection, Witte finished the season hitting .343 with 61 hits, 47 runs scored, a team high 17 doubles, four home runs and 25 RBIs.
- HIs team high 18 stolen bases this season helped Witte become the first player in WIAC history to surpass 100 stolen bases as he finishes his career with 105 in his collegiate career.
