USTFCCCA Release

New Orleans, La. -
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse junior Lauren Jarrett of La Crosse (Logan) has been selected the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year, selected by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced Monday.

She is the first student-athlete in school history to earn the award. Caitlin Schetter (2008, 2009) and Hannah Zenkovich (2022) have been selected the USTFCCCA National Field Athlete of the Year.

Jarrett was named the 2025 USTFCCCA North Region Track Athlete of the Year last week. She swept the 60 and 200-meter dash titles at this year's NCAA Division III Championships.

The first student-athlete in school history to be voted the USTFCCCA Indoor North Region Track Athlete of the Year, Jarrett was named the USTFCCCA Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet on March 19 for her efforts at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

She became the fourth sprinter in NCAA Division III history to sweep the 60 (7.31) and 200-meter dash (23.94), including the first since 2018. It was Jarrett's second career title in the 60-meter dash, also winning in 2024. Her time of 7.29 in the preliminaries tied her own NCAA Division III record set this year at the USATF Championships.

Jarrett established three facility records between the 60-meter dash and two rounds of the 200-meter dash at the national championships held at the Golisano Training Center.

She also set a school record in the 200-meter dash at 23.94, breaking Emma Lawrence's record of 24.44 set in 2023. She is the only sprinter in UWL history to win the 60 and 200-meter dash. Her time of 23.94 in the 200-meter dash ranks second in NCAA Division III history.

Selected the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Track Performer of the Meet, Jarrett won the 60 (7.43) and 200 (24.34) meter dash. It marked her second consecutive season earning the award. She also finished sixth in the 60-meter dash at the USATF Indoor Championships.

Member coaches voted on these honors following the conclusion of 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, but considered performances throughout the season when voting on these honors. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
