La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team is set to compete at the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Region VII Regional Friday-Saturday, February 28-March 1 at Augsburg University's (Minn.) Si Melby Hall. Action starts at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1.
Ten wrestlers will represent UWL in the regional championships. Competing for the Eagles will be

Nine of UWL's 10 wrestlers competing at this year's regional placed at the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships on February as the Eagles captured their ninth straight title at UW-Whitewater.
Goebel (20-1 on the season), Orlandoni (13-2), Gerber (12-1) and Douglas (19-1) each won titles at the league championships while Kawczynski (17-7), Cherba (16-13), Simes (25-8) and Magolski (22-8) placed second. Wolbert (18-9) was third and Lorenz did not compete at the WIAC Championships.
Douglas is currently ranked first in National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III while Gerber and Orlandoni are third, Kawczynski and Goebel fourth, Simes and Lorenz eighth and Wolbert is 11th.
A total of 16 teams will be competing in the regional, including five of six from the WIAC. Joining UWL from the league are UW-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point. Other teams in the regional include Augsburg (Minn.), Aurora University (Ill.), Carthage College (Wis.), Concordia-Moorhead College (Minn.), Concordia University Wisconsin, Lakeland University (Wis.), Linfield University (Ore.), Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.), Pacific University (Ore.), Saint John's University (Minn.) and Augustana College (Ill.).
Thirty wrestlers, the top-three finishers in each of the 10 weight classes at the Region VII Regional, advance to the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships scheduled for March 14-15 in Providence, Rhode Island. The championships are hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Amica Mutual Pavillion.
A total of seven regionals will be held this weekend, including the NCAA Region I Regional at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.; the Region II Regional at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.; the Region III Regional at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; the Region IV Regional at Averett University in Danville, Va.; the Region V Regional at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind.; the Region VI Regional at American Rivers Conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the Region VII Regional at Augsburg, Minn. in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Region III, VI and Region VII Regional will take place February 28-March 1 while the rest of the regionals will take place on March 1-2.
UWL enters the Region VII Regional ranked first in the NWCA Division III Tournament Team Poll released February 21 while Augsburg (Minn.) is third, UW-Eau Claire seventh.
