Cameron (H.S.) has been voted the 2025-26 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestler of the Year with freshman
Markos Mihalopoulos of
Huntley, Ill. (H.S.) being selected the WIAC Co-Newcomer of the Year.
Mihalopoulos shares the WIAC Newcomer of the Year with UW-Eau Claire's Wyatt Unser.
Tanner Gerber won the NCAA Division III
title at 165-pounds.
Gerber is the 13th wrestler in school history to be named the WIAC Wrestler of the Year, joining

The first wrestler in UWL history to win the 165-pound title at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships, Gerber finished 34-3 this season. He went 4-0 at the national tournament, winning the title with a decision (4-0) over Andrew Supers of Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio). Gerber, this year's third-seed, earned his second career NCAA Division III All-America honor after finishing third last season.
He placed second at this year's NCAA Division III Region VII Regional and captured his second straight WIAC title. Gerber finished 4-0 at the league championships, winning the title with a decision (5-1) over UW-Whitewater's Braydeen Peet.
Gerber also won the 165-pound crown at the Pete Willson Wheaton College (Ill.) Invitational.
Mihalopoulos becomes the third wrestler in UWL history to be selected the WIAC Newcomer of the Year. He joins
Isaac Lahr (2019-20) and
Wyatt Magolski (2024-25) in earning the recognition.
Markos Mihalopoulos was sixth
at the NCAA III Championships.
Unseeded at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships, Mihalopoulos earned All-America accolades after finishing sixth at 285-pounds. He went 3-3 at the national championships in his first career appearance.
He went 23-11 overall, placing third at the NCAA III Region VII Regional and fourth at the WIAC Championships. Mihalopoulos was third at the Pete Willson Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational.
UWL placed second at the NCAA Division III Championships under head coach
Dave Malecek. The second-place finish ties its best in school history, also being second in 2001, 2006, 2008 and 2010. The Eagles were second at the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional and WIAC Championships.
