Madison, Wis. - Nine University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student-athletes have been selected to the 2024 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Baseball Team in a vote by the league coaches.

Woodbury, Minn. (East Ridge) all earned WIAC Honorable Mention honors.
ALL-WIAC FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
- Born earns his third first team selection (2022, 2023, 2024) and fourth WIAC honor as he was honorable mention and Newcomer of the Year as a freshman. Born ranks second on the team in batting average (.385), hits (67), home runs (13), and RBIs (56). His 56 RBIs ranks third in the WIAC while his hits total is fourth and his home runs are tied for fourth most.
- Katz picks up his second consecutive first team All-WIAC selection after earning the honor after last season. On the mound, Katz leads the Eagles in starts (11), wins (6) and innings pitched (60.1) while ranking third in strikeouts. He ranks third in the WIAC in wins and total innings. One of Katz's best outings of the season came in a complete game win over nationally ranked UW-Whitewater where he allowed one run on six hits while striking out seven.
- Seaman earns his first All-WIAC selection. He leads the Eagles in home runs (15) and RBIs (61) while ranking second in slugging percentage (.624) and third in runs scored (44). Seaman tied the single game record with three home runs in the Eagles 10-7 win over UW-Oshkosh on April 13.
- Like Seaman, this is VandenHeuvel's first WIAC honor. VandenHeuvel leads the Eagles in batting average (.401) runs scored (54), hits (73) and triples (3) while ranking third in home runs (8) and RBIs (48). In the WIAC, VandenHeuvel ranks first in triples, second in runs scored and hits and fourth in on base percentage. In a double header versus UW-Platteville on March 30, VandenHeuvel finished 6-for-9, with four home runs, six RBIs and six runs scored.
- Schmitt picks up his second consecutive All-WIAC honor after being named first team and Newcomer of the Year as a freshman (2023). Schmitt ranks second in the WIAC in strikeouts (80) while ranking second on the Eagles in innings pitched (54.2) and starts (10). Schmitt had one of his best performances against UW-Oshkosh on April 13 when he pitched a complete, allowing one run on five hits while striking out 14. He has three games this season with at least 10 strikeouts.
ALL-WIAC HONORABLE MENTION ALL-CONFERENCE
- This marks the third time Matl has been honored by the WIAC as he was a first team selection in 2022 and an honorable mention recipient in 2023. Matl is 5-0 on the season, having made 12 appearances out of the bullpen. In 30.1 innings, Matl has struck out 37 and recorded four saves. His 2.37 ERA leads the Eagles.
- Like Matl, Olver was a WIAC First team selection in the 2022 and an honorable mention honoree in 2023. A .333 hitter this season, Olver leads the WIAC in doubles with 18. He ranks third on the team in hits (62) and fifth in RBIs (26).
- This is the second time Vivian has been honored by the WIAC as he was a first team recipient a year ago. So far this season, Vivian is hitting .343 which ranks fourth on the Eagles with seven home runs, 10 doubles, 37 runs scored and 26 RBIs. In UWL's 8-7 win over UW-Stevens Point, Vivian went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored.
- This is Witte's first time as an Eagle earning WIAC honors after earning first team honors in 2022 at UW-Eau Claire. A .341 hitter so far this season, Witte ranks first on the Eagles in stolen bases (17) while ranking second in doubles (13) and runs scored (50). He also ranks third in walks (18), fourth in RBIs (37) and fifth in home runs (5)
ALL-WIAC HONORABLE MENTION ALL-CONFERENCE
- The WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team is chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It includes one member from each school.
- Urlaub has played in 30 games this season making 26 starts as a catcher.
- A .297 hitter, Urlaub has six doubles, one home run, 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
- He has thrown out eight players trying to steal base this season.
