Six Eagles Earn Baseball All-Region Honors

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse baseball team had six players earn All-Region honors announced on Tuesday by either D3baseball.com or the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings.

George Seaman earned All-Region honors by both organizations while Anthony Vivian was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team and Mac Born, Andrew Rajkovich, Caleb Matl and Nate Witte was named to the D3baseball.com All-Region Team.

  • This is Seaman's second time earning ABCA all-region honors while it is his first being recognized by D3baseball.com. 
  • Seaman started all 46 games this season for the Eagles, leading the team in batting average (.366), hits (67), total bases (125), home runs (16) and slugging percentage (.683).
  • With his 16 home runs this, Seaman finishes his Eagles career with a school record 55.
  • He finished the year with 18 multi-hit games including six games with at least three hits. 
  • Defensively, Seaman finished with just one error all season and a .997 fielding percentage.

  • This is the fourth time Born has earned D3baseball.com All-Region honors and his third time on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region list.   
  • Born started all 45 games he played in this season while leading the team with 55 RBIs. 
  • He finished the season hitting .337 with 57 hits, eight doubles, seven home runs and 35 runs scored. 
  • Born finishes his career with a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and school record 329 hits and 288 RBIs. 
  • His RBI total and total bases (549)  is the second most all-time in NCAA III while his hit total ranks third. 
  • For the fourth straight season, Born was selected to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team.

  • This is the second time Matl has earned all-region honors from D3baseball.com
  • Matl finished the season with a team high 14 appearances out of the bull pen, serving as the Eagles primary closer 
  • In his 14 appearances, Matl finished with a team low 2.35 earned run average and three saves in 30.2 innings of work.
  • He also recorded 27 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .186 batting average.
  • Matl ends his Eagle career with a school record 72 appearances while his 17 career saves ranks second.

Andrew Rajkovich, Senior of Madison (La Follette), Outfield, D3baseball.com Second Team All-Region
  • This is the first all-region honor for Rajkovich. 
  • Rajkovich played in 45 games this season making 42 starts. 
  • He finished the season with a .306 batting average while recording 48 hits, 40 runs scored, 10 doubles and 12 home runs. 
  • His 12 homes runs was second on the team and helped give him a .611 slugging percentage. 
  • Rajkovich had three games with two home runs in each including against UW-Stout where he had two in game two on March 27 and finished the four game series with the Blue Devils with five home runs and 13 RBIs.
  • He picked up his first WIAC First Team All-Conference honor as well.

  • This is the third consecutive season that Vivian has earned All-Region honors
  • Vivian started all 45 games he played in this season finishing the year hitting .345.
  • He finished the season with 51 hits, 38 runs scored, 14 doubles, eight home runs and 36 RBI.
  • His .615 slugging percentage ranked second on the team while his eight home runs was tied for third.
  • Vivian was recognized by the WIAC as an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.

  • This is the second time Witte has earned All-Region honors.  
  • Witte played in all 46 games this season, making 45 starts. 
  • A WIAC First Team All-Conference selection, Witte finished the season hitting .343 with 61 hits, 47 runs scored, a team high 17 doubles, four home runs and 25 RBIs. 
  • HIs team high 18 stolen bases this season helped Witte become the first player in WIAC history to surpass 100 stolen bases as he finishes his career with 105 in his collegiate career.
