La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's tennis team opened its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schedule with an 8-1 victory over UW-Stevens Point Wednesday afternoon at Green Island Tennis Park. UWL improves to 13-6 overall and 1-0 in the WIAC while UW-Stevens Point drops to 3-15 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
It marks UWL's first WIAC dual since 1995. Men's tennis returned to the WIAC after being discontinued in 1995. The conference held its first league championship in 1955. UWL has won six conference championships.
