St. Louis, Mo./Waverly, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's track & field team opened its outdoor season with a pair of meets.
At the Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) Distance Carnival, the Eagles'
Katelyn Chadwick placed sixth (10:46.17) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Maddy McIntyre was 17th (35:54.30) and
Brooklyn Luebke 27th (36:54.68) in the 10,000-meter run. No team scores were recorded.

At the Wartburg College (Iowa) Good Friday Challenge, UWL placed seventh overall with 23.0 team points. A total of 13 teams scored points.

Gabby Johnson captured the javelin throw (136-11).
Izzy Carroll recorded three top-six finishes on Friday, placing fourth in the shot put (44-6), fifth in the discus throw (133-5) and sixth in the hammer throw (162-10).

Madilyn Vander Sanden finished 10th in the shot put (40-0) and 13th in the hammer throw (132-8).
Alexa Zimney was 16th in the discus throw (108-11), 18th in the shot put (34-9 ½) and 20th in the hammer throw (113-10).
Sydney Torgerson placed eighth in the discus throw (127-2) and 22nd in the hammer throw (106-4).
In the long jump, UWL's
Alison Daugherty was ninth (16-4 ½) while
Alia Vanderhoef 11th (4-10 ¼) in the high jump.
UWL returns to action Saturday, April 6 hosting the Ashton May Invitational at 12 p.m.
