Notre Dame, Ind./Colfax, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's cross country team, 14th on this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTCCCA) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III rankings, competed in a pair of meets Friday. The Eagles finished ninth at the University of Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational and second at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational.
Competing in the Notre Dame Invitational Gold Division, UWL totaled 242 team points while Indiana State University won the team title with 85. Appalachian State University (N.C.) was second with 106 points and the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) third with 166. A total of 23 teams competed.
UWL had six runners place in the top-75 on Friday, including

th overall with a time of 18:03.4 in the 5,000-meter race.

At the UW-Eau Claire Invite, UWL placed second with 82 team points. UW-Eau Claire won the team title with 58 points while Lawrence University (Wis.) and UW-Stout tied for fourth with 96. A total of 13 teams competed.
Eleven runners finished in the top-50 for UWL with
Lily Higgins leading the Eagles with a time of 23:04.0 for 6,000-meters to place 15th overall.
