Box Score 2 Tucson, Ariz. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse softball team split a pair of games on day three of the Tucson Invitational on Monday. The Eagles earned a 13-1 victory in five innings over Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.) before falling, 8-0 to Coe College (Iowa). UWL is now 2-4 in Arizona and 5- overall.
Assisted by three RIT (N.Y.) errors, UWL was able to jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Kyra Lard with the first run of the game, followed by a
Jordan Schultz walk with the bases-loaded scoring
Anna Jensen, and a
Hailey Jibben sacrifice fly bringing in Jordan McCormack for a 3-0 lead.
UWL took a 5-0 lead with two runs in the second inning on Lard's two-run home run. The Eagles added six runs on eight hits in the bottom of the third. Lard had a three-run double to make it 8-0 and McCormack's double scored Lard for a 9-0 lead. Schultz and Jibben each had RBI singles in the inning.Â
After RIT (N.Y.) scored its lone run in the top of the fourth, Marissa Pease hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning to complete the scoring for UWL.
Ally Eden (3-2) pitched a complete-game for the Eagles striking out two batters, allowing two hits, and one run in 5.0 innings. Lexi Pieri suffered the loss for the Tigers, allowing nine runs on eight hits in 2.0 innings.
UWL had 15 hits in the game with Megan Scheidt going 3-for-3 with three runs. Lard, Jensen, McCormack and Isabel Queenan each had two hits. Lard finished with three runs and five RBI.Â
Versus Coe (Iowa), the Kohawks scored four times in the bottom of the first and second innings to take an 8-0 lead. Coe (Iowa) finished with nine hits with Ruby Kappeler, Marissa Vodicka and Skyler Stookey each totaling two. Vodicka and Stookey each had three RBI while Kappeler, Vodicka and Madi Parson each scored twice.
Elise Weinzierl (2-3) suffered the loss for the Eagles. She struck out two batters and allowed eight runs on eight hits in 1.1 innings. Hannah Ausenhus was credited with the win for the Kohawks striking out five batters while not allowing a hit in 5.0 innings.
UWL returns to action Tuesday, March 14 against Dickinson College (Pa.) at 11 a.m. (Mountain) and Webster University (Mo.) at 3:30 p.m. (Mountain).
