La Crosse, Wis. - University of Wisconsin-La Crosse senior forward Carly Coulthart of Sun Prairie (H.S.), senior forward Alana Gilles of Lodi (H.S.), junior guard Paige Schumann of Beaver Dam (H.S.) and sophomore guard Lauryn Milne of Lodi (H.S.) have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday. 

Coulthart has started all 25 games this season for the Eagles, ranking fourth on the team in scoring (6.6) and third in rebounding (3.6). She is a graduate student in the UWL Doctorate of Physical Therapy program after earning her undergraduate degree in exercise sport science with a 3.79 grade point average. Coulthart has a 3.61 graduate grade point average. Coulthart has been a member of UWL's Dean's List for eight semesters. She is fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in three-point field goals made per game (1.6) this season while ranking 10th in three-point shooting (30.8%).  

Appearing all 25 games with 15 starts, Gilles is third for UWL in scoring (9.1) and second in rebounding (4.7). An exercise sport science pre-physician assistant track major with a 3.95 grade point average, Gilles is a team captain this season. She leads the WIAC in field goal shooting (58.0%). Gilles has been on UWL's Dean's List for seven semesters.

Schumann has started all 25 contests, ranking fifth in scoring (5.6) and rebounding (3.2). She leads UWL in assists and ranks second in steals. A sport management major with a 3.84 grade point average, Schumann leads the WIAC in assist/turnover ratio (2.6) while ranking second in assists (3.0). 

Milne has played in all 25 games with 24 starts. She is second for the Eagles in scoring (9.2) and third in rebounding (3.7) while leading the team in steals (1.3). She is a biology major with a 3.89 grade point average and has been on UWL's Dean's List three semesters. Milne is ninth in the WIAC in steals, 10th in blocks (0.6) and 13th in field goal shooting (42.8%). 

Coulthart, Gilles, Schumann and Milne have all been members of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. 

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All- America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.  The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All- America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
