La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team captured the 10-team Ashton May Invitational Saturday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
UWL totaled 144 team points while UW-Platteville and UW-Stout tied for second with 119 points, UW-Oshkosh was fourth with 105 and UW-Eau Claire fifth with 77.
The Eagles recorded two first-place finishes with one on the track and one in the field events.
Carson Reilly won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.00 while
Sam Blaskowski won the long jump with a measurement of 24-8 1/4.
On the track, Blaskowki was the Eagles' top finisher in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.72 to place fourth. Three UWL runners finished in the top-four in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with
Corey Fairchild finishing second (9:32.28),
Adam Loenser was third (9:33.59) and
Austin True was fourth (9:37.56).
In the 400-meter dash,
Addison Hill was second (48.90) and
Payton Flood fourth (49.71).
Michael Madoch was UWL's top finisher in the 800-meter run with a second-place finish (1:53.07) while
Tyler Kisting was third (1:55.11).
In Saturday's field events,
Logan Larson finished second in the pole vault (15-3) while
William Cady was third in the triple jump (45-2 1/2).
Evan Daley (6-6 3/4) and
Nathan Andringa (6-4 3/4) finished third and fourth in the high jump.
Cameron Sorenson joined Blaskowski as a top finisher in the long jump, placing third (22-5).
Michael Lampman was third in the discus throw (149-8) while
Aiden Williams was fourth in the hammer throw (176-7).

The meet is named for former assistant women's track & field coach Ashton May, who passed away September 16, 2012 after a traffic accident north of Adams, Minnesota. She completed her second season as an assistant coach with the Eagles in 2011-12. May earned her degree from UWL in 2010 in elementary education and was a math and social studies teacher at Holmen (Wis.) Middle School. May will be inducted into the UWL Wall of Fame this fall.
A four-year track & field letter winner for the Eagles, she earned 10 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III All-America awards, including second-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump at the 2010 outdoor championships. May was also second in the long jump at the 2010 indoor national championships.
UWL returns to action Thursday-Friday, April 14-15 at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
