Eagles Win Third Straight NCAA Outdoor National Title; Schroeder Wins National Title; 19 All-America Honors Earned Saturday

La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track and field team captured its 18th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Outdoor Championship Saturday at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

2026 NCAA III OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP BASICS
  • Team Results - With an NCAA III Championship meet record 106 points, UWL wins their third straight national title. Rowan University (NJ) finished second with 85 points while UW-Oshkosh was third (55 points), SUNY Geneseo (NY) fourth (39) and UW-Eau Claire fifth (34 points). 
  • Location - UWL's Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex, La Crosse, Wis. (Hosted by UW-La Crosse)
  • UWL at NCAA III Championships - UWL has won an NCAA Division III record 18 outdoor titles. UWL has finished in the top-four 31 times and in the top 10 in 34 outdoor championships. UWL earned 16 individual NCAA III All-America honors along with the 4x100 and 4x400 relay team at the 2026 Championships. Head coach Josh Buchholtz has now led UWL to 14 NCAA Division III titles, including seven outdoor (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2024, 2025, 2026) and seven indoor (2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2023, 2024, 2025).

Field Events
  • Triple Jump  - Carter Pearson (47-6 1/4) and Christian Crumbaker (46-9 1/2) both competed in the triple jump and finished 16th and 18th, respectively. 
  • Pole Vault  - Connor Boyle led three Eagles in the pole vault as he finished fourth overall to earn All-American honors with a top mark of 16-8 3/4. Also competing with Boyle was Gaven Lange who tied for 10th (16-0 3/4) while Josh Brunner tied for 12th (16-0 3/4).
  • Hammer Throw - Logan Powers earned his first All-America honor in the hammer throw as he finished fourth with a top throw of 197-8.

    Track Events
  • 4x100-Meter Relay - The relay team of Ryder Smith, Evan Maurud, Landon Gallun and Luke Schroeder finished third with a time of 39.67 to earn All-America honors. 
  • 400-Meter Run Collin Conzemius earned his second consecutive outdoor All-America honor in the 400-meter run as he finished second with a time of 46.15.
  • 100-Meter Dash  - Earning his second All-America honor of the day was Schroeder as he finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.31. Also finding his way on to the podium for the Eagles was Gallun (10.44) who finished eighth to earned his first All-America honor in the 100-meter dash. 
  • 110-Meter Hurdles - Schroeder became the first Eagle since 2017 and just the third to win a national championship in the 110-meter hurdles. Schroeder won the race with a NCAA III Championship record time of 13.42. Also earning points for the Eagles and his first All-America honor was Aaron Poelma as he finished fifth in a time of 14.08. 
  • 800-Meter Run  - Cael Schoemann earned his fourth consecutive All-American honor in the 800-meter run as he finished third overall with a time of 1:49.23. 
  • 1500-Meter Run - After earning All-American honors on Friday night in the 3000-meter steeplechase, Jayden Zywicki finished fourth (3:46.33) in the 1500-meter run to earn All-America honors.
  • 5000-Meter Run - UWL had five runners in the 5000-meter run including two that finished on the podium. Aidan Matthai led the way with a fourth place finish (14:16.11) while Charles Vater was seventh (14:06.98). Owen Clark was next for the Eagles as he finished 10th (14:32.57) while Joey Sullivan was 15th (14:39.80) and Zywicki was 19th (14:53.98).
  • 4x400-Meter Relay - The relay team of Devin Williams, Finn Patenaude, Andrew Hackbarth and Conzemius ran a season best time of 3:08.20 to finish second in the 4x400 relay.
